The first building of its kind to be built in the UK, the Gridshell is a unique and exquisite setting for both seated and standing events for up to 180 people.

With its shell-like shape made from solid oak the Downland Gridshell is an architecturally awe-inspiring and dramatic building that is surrounded by peaceful and beautiful woodland.

The Downland Gridshell is a remarkable and striking structure, providing an exceptional venue for all events ranging from weddings to corporate events. The Downland Gridshell is situated within our 40 acre site of the Weald & Downland Living Museum which  includes over 50 historic buildings dating from 950AD to the 19th century, re-erected from their original sites in the south east England, together with period gardens, traditional farm animals and a mill pond.
